JFF Security’s Managing Director, Scott Squibb, shared his thoughts on the growing partnership:

“It’s been a great pleasure for my Security team to be welcomed into the Gold & Blue family. I’m excited to be able to show our continued support this coming season by being one of the sponsors for the Raiders and the Buccaneers.

2024/25 was our first season providing security and we’ve been incredibly impressed by Romford’s strong family-oriented club culture. As a local business, we believe that investing in community sports teams is crucial. Following a successful first season, we recognised the importance of deepening our commitment, and we’re proud to further contribute to such an outstanding organisation.”

We’re thrilled to have JFF Security on board as a sponsor and thank them for their continued commitment, what we’re building in Romford.

Dewey’s Back For Four

Elliott Dewey Returns for Fourth Season with Romford Raiders

The Romford Raiders are delighted to announce the return of defenceman Elliott Dewey for the 2025/26 season as he begins his fourth campaign in Raiders colours.

Since joining the Raiders in 2021, Dewey has become a cornerstone of the defensive unit, amassing an impressive 192 appearances across all competitions. Remarkably, he has missed just four games in three seasons, underlining his consistency and resilience on the ice.

In that time, Dewey contributed 42 points from the blue line, a testament to his ability to support the offence when needed, while maintaining his defensive reliability. Notably, Elliott has also demonstrated exceptional discipline, averaging just 0.75 penalty minutes per appearance.

Commenting on the return of Dewey is Head Coach Buckman: “Good to have Dewey back in the squad, he brings experience and reliability to our D-Core and a simple no nonsense style of play”

Raiders fans will no doubt be thrilled to see Elliott back in gold and blue, as the team prepares for another exciting season.

Kanys Signs Two-Way

MEGAS KANYS RETURNS TO RAIDERS ON TWO-WAY DEAL WITH BUCCANEERS

The Romford Raiders are pleased to confirm that defenceman Megas Kanys will be returning for the 2025/26 season on a two-way agreement with the Romford Buccaneers.

At just 20 years old, Megas is no stranger to the Gold and Blue. Megas last season was given the opportunity to ice with the Raiders and having risen through the junior ranks and earned his stripes with the Buccaneers in NIHL1. He’s developed into one of Buccs most reliable and composed defencemen.

Kanys’ progression has been built on consistency, his determination to improve, and the use of his size and is now ready to take the next steps with further opportunities at National League level.

Head coach Jason Buckman commented “It’s important to have Meg on a 2 way again, he trained a lot with raiders last year and had a good year with Buccs.

I will be looking to him to lead from the front again with Buccs and push for more game time with Raiders for his development”

His return on a two-way deal continues to highlight the strength of our pathway between the Buccaneers and Raiders – and the value of investing in local talent and planning for the success of the future.

We’re excited to see Megas continue his development as he splits his time between both squads, and we know he’ll be ready whenever called upon to represent the Raiders.

Welcome back, Megas!

Miller Is Back!

RAIDERS WELCOME BACK FIREPOWER SENSATION SHAUN MILLER

#95 Shaun Miller is back in Gold & Blue!

The 26-year-old forward returns for his second season with the Romford Raiders after a jaw-dropping debut year that lit up the NIHL National league and saw him quickly become a fan favourite at the Sapphire.

Miller’s impact last season was nothing short of sensational – clocking 60 appearances, racking up 55 goals and 68 assists for a monster 123 points. Those stats not only placed him comfortably inside the Top 50 all-time Raiders point scorers but also marked the best single-season performance by a Raider in 12 years.

This didn’t go unnoticed with Millsy receiving Supporters’ Player of the Year, Top Forward, and Top Scorer at the fans End of Season Awards, and also claiming First Line All-Star in the League Awards and Shortlisted for NIHL National Player of the Year

Head Coach Jason Buckman was thrilled to secure his return:

“Getting Millsy back was key this season. After his success last year, he was a sought-after player by every team in the league. Speaking with him throughout the summer, it became clear he loves playing in Romford – and in the end, it was an easy decision for him. I’m looking forward to working with him when he returns to the UK.”

Buccs Sign Two-Ways

BUCCANEERS TRIO SIGN TWO-WAY DEAL WITH RAIDERS

Romford Raiders are pleased to announce forwards Artjoms Kazaks, Nils Maskalans, and Shay Woolmore will be joining the Romford Raiders on two-way contracts for the upcoming season, while continuing their development with the Romford Buccaneers.

This move reflects the strength of the club’s development pathway, offering young talent the opportunity to test themselves at the next level while staying key contributors in the NIHL1 Buccaneers setup.

Artjoms Kazaks returns for his fourth season in Romford and second as a prospective Raider. The 19-year-old dual-national forward has steadily developed into a standout player with exciting potential. Known for his work ethic and smart offensive play, Artjoms continues to prove he has what it takes to become a future star.

Nils Maskalans made an immediate impact after arriving from Belfast last season. The 17-year-old Latvian forward notched 27 points in 31 games for the Buccs and impressed with his skill, speed, and ability to frustrate opponents. His fearless style and creative edge make him one to watch.

Shay Woolmore, a proud local product, rounds off the trio. Shay returned to Romford U18’s after a year in Austria with Okanagan back in 2023 and wasted no time stepping up to senior hockey the minute he was eligible. A former Chelmsford junior, Shay joined the Buccs at 16 and made his Raiders debut last season—showcasing his potential and composure well beyond his years.

Raiders Head Coach Buckman commented on the trio ““Having Shay, Artjoms and Nils return to Buccs this coming season was key for the club, they showed massive improvement last year and no better way to reward their progression than being on a 2-way with Raiders.

I look forward to seeing them grow further and really establish themselves this coming season and push for more Raiders game time”

Romford Hockey, are proud to offer our junior players a clear pathway to senior hockey, helping them sharpen their skills and grow into the next generation of Raiders.

Congratulations to Artjoms, Nils, and Shay — we look forward to seeing your continued progress in both Buccs and Raiders colours this season!
