Welcome Back Jacob Ranson

Romford Raiders are delighted to announce the return of Jacob Ranson for his ninth season in Gold & Blue.

Jacob made his Raiders debut in September 2013 against Gosport & Solent Devils. He has gone on to make 328 appearances (ranked 11th overall) which includes two ever present (ironman) seasons.

In those appearances, Jacob has scored 40 goals and 33 assists for 73 points.

Captain Cooper Returns

The Romford Raiders are delighted to welcome back Jack Cooper, who will wear the captain’s “C” on the #14 shirt, as he returns to the Sapphire.

This season will be a testimonial season for Coops; he wears a Raiders shirt for the eleventh consecutive season, having made his debut against Chelmsford Chieftains in November 2014.

Jack is a three time ironman, and is ranked 4th amongst Raiders players for all time appearances. He has twice made over 100 consecutive appearances in his 452 games for the Raiders, with 61 assists for a total of 67 points.

Jack Goodchild
21 year old #37 Jack Goodchild was the NIHL south 1 league top points scorer last season, just ahead of Brynley Capps scoring 85 points (36 goals and 49 assists).

He has made 67 appearances for Slough scoring 57 goals and 54 assists for 111 points. He has made 77 NIHL national appearances for Swindon Wildcats and bees scoring 11 goals and 8 assists for 19 points.

Jack has also represented Great Britain at the under 20 world championships, scoring 1 goal and 1 assist.

Luke Smital
21 year old Luke Smital, brother of last season Raiders netminder Matt, has made 61 appearances for Slough Jets, scoring 26 goals and 41 assists for 67 points.

Luke has also made 19 NIHL national appearances for Bees and Bristol Pitbulls, scoring 6 goals and three assists for 9 points.

Sebastian Mohr
18 year old #9 Sebastian Mohr has represented Great Britain at the last two World Championships, making 10 appearances scoring one goal and two assists.

For Jets he has made 131 league, cup and play off appearances, scoring 62 goals and 70 assists for 132 points. In addition, he has made 7 appearances for Bees in NIHL national scoring 1 goal and 1 assist.

Christian Mohr
21 year old #54 Christian Mohr has made 117 appearances for the Jets, scoring 56 goals and 61 assists for 117 points.

He has also made 46 NIHL national appearances for Bees and Bristol Pitbulls, scoring 5 goals and 8 assists for 13 points.

Christian has also represented Great Britain at the World Championships scoring one assist in five appearances.

Welcome To Thomas Brown!

Romford Raiders are pleased to announce the second signing of our netminding tandem for the 2024/25 season, as 24 year old Thomas Brown moves to the Sapphire from NIHL North champions Billingham Stars. Thomas has spent the last five seasons in Billingham back stopping the Stars where has made 130 starting appearances between the pipes, and in each of the past three seasons has produced a better than 90% save percentage.


Dual national (British/Canadian) Thomas played junior hockey in Canada in the Provincial Junior Hockey League, before moving to Whitley Bay to complete his junior career.
